At Signite, we’re all about opening up opportunities and creating pathways that wouldn’t otherwise exist. We want to bring people together across borders and thus create opportunities for a professional career.
In this way, we offer young people a sound nursing education in Germany. Employers from elderly care and rehabilitation clinics are happy to have their teams strengthened by committed care workers who are capable of development.
The path is not that long and difficult. It’s all about you and your commitment to learning German – up to language level B2. This gives you the security you need to get off to a good start in your training in Germany. You will also need an employer and have to have your school-leaving certificate recognised by a German authority. But that’s what we are here for, to support you in these steps as well as in applying for a visa in good time before you start your training.

The training to become a nursing specialist lasts three years. Those who complete it develop into real all-round talents in the care sector. This is because the training is generalist, which means that the trainees - called trainees for short - get to know all areas of nursing. It's about medical knowledge, of course, but also about learning, for example, how to support patients individually, how to behave in acute situations and also how to stay healthy and fit yourself in your nursing job.
What is probably different from your home country is that it is a school-based education with many practical assignments. Theory phases at school alternate with practical phases in different care facilities. However, you spend most of the time for the practical part with your employer.
Important: already in the first year of training, prospective nursing professionals receive up to 1,200 euros gross per month. This means that you don't have to pay anything for the training yourself! From the first month of training, you will receive your training salary, which you can manage quite well with. Often your employer will also support you with cheap accommodation and other things. With each year of training, the salary increases and at the same time you will already be able to be a more active carer yourself with what you have learned!
In order to be able to start your training safely, you must be able to speak good German. Because as soon as you sit in the nursing school or are shown practical things by so-called practice supervisors at your employer's, everyone will only speak German with you. That means you have to understand what is being said and also be able to actively communicate in German yourself. That's why it's very important and up to you to regularly and intensively attend language courses in your home country in order to pass the B2 exam and thus have the basis for the transfer. German at level B2 will help you get started, but it will certainly not be enough to enable you to travel with a good feeling of linguistic confidence. That is why you will continue to learn German after your arrival, parallel to your nursing training. Your employer will support you in this. And the fact that you are already in the country and everyone around you speaks German will certainly help you to get along better step by step.
How does nursing training actually work exactly? What can I expect during my first days in Germany? Where and how will I live? When will I arrive - and what could possibly go wrong before then? These are all questions that are surely running through your head and all of them are not only completely justified, but also good and right! At Signite, we are here to answer them. Because if you know what to expect, you feel more confident and better prepared if something unexpected happens or goes wrong.
