Trainees in healthcare and nursing professions earned more than trainees in other occupational fields, with an average gross monthly salary of €1,310. The figures are based on an evaluation from April 2024.

The average gross monthly earnings of all trainees in Germany was €1,238, which was significantly above the overall average. By way of comparison, remuneration in the skilled trades was €1,008 during the same period, and only €914 in artistic professions.

According to Destatis, the level of training remuneration also depends on the size of the company. In companies with fewer than ten employees, the average monthly earnings were €929. In companies with more than 1,000 employees, however, trainees received an average of €1,494 gross. And: women earned an average of €1,302 gross, men €1,187, which is, for once, more than men.
