You have it in your hand, without pressure, without talking down.
You are one of those who have chosen a very special profession. Anaesthetic or operational technical assistant (ATA/OTA); specialist for radiology (MTRA) or a medical laboratory (MTL)? Here, too, there are always enquiries from employers. Feel free to contact us and Signite will inform you about your options.
As a specialist, you contribute with your expertise to a smooth workflow in a team of health professionals.
Employers are also looking for specialists with your professional background, but there are comparatively fewer positions that need to be filled. When ATAs, OTAs, MTRAs or MTLAs are needed in Germany, employers are always concerned not only to recruit competent people. Professional recognition is also imperative for the employer to employ them.
It is often even more difficult to find suitable recognition measures in these specialised professions. Sometimes these are local or limited in time. But we at Signite are happy to advise you on where and how you can successfully master the path to becoming a recognised specialist in your profession.
In order to have your qualification from your home country recognised, it must be professionally comparable to the German equivalent. The competent authorities compare the content and duration of your vocational training with the German reference occupation, for which you must have completed three years of training.
There are usually differences, which are shown in a so-called deficiency notice. You can “compensate” for these after your arrival in Germany and work as an assistant for a long time. Often only an adaptation course (a kind of internship in the workplace) is possible, sometimes also a professional knowledge test.
From 2024 onwards, you will also have to pass a technical language test to complete the recognition process and receive a state certificate granting permission to practice the profession.
