Since occupational and physiotherapists are regulated professions in Germany, recognition of your foreign qualification is mandatory. At the end, you will hold a professional certificate in your hands that allows you to practise the profession.
Until then, we will help you find the right employer and apply for recognition. After your arrival in Germany, you will most likely complete an adaptation course. This will last for several months and will take place partly at your employer’s (practical parts) and partly at a technical college (theory). In order to be fully recognised, you must also pass a technical language examination parallel to the course.
During this time until you receive your professional certificate, you work as an occupational/physiotherapeutic assistant and earn the corresponding salary.
It’s about you, your employer – and everyone around you. When you arrive in Germany, you should already be able to speak and understand German as well as possible. This makes everything easier, especially for you, but also for the people around you.
You will need it at work to be able to talk to colleagues and patients. But also in your private life, when talking to neighbours, when shopping, in fact always and everywhere. It is also important to note that you will have to take a special language test to complete your professional qualification. There are special preparatory courses for this. But the better your German, the more helpful it will be.
