Requirements: Who is considered a skilled worker in Germany?

German immigration law offers many opportunities for skilled workers to live and work in Germany.

For this, it is usually necessary that you have an official professional qualification (diploma / certificate) from your home country and that this is recognised in Germany by the competent recognition authority. Unfortunately, without professional recognition you have no prospect of working as a skilled worker in Germany and living there permanently.

Under certain conditions, assistant professions also have a chance of professional recognition. This also applies to some 2-year vocational training programmes. Here, the possibilities depend on the exact profession and the country of origin.

How well you need to speak German depends largely on your job and the wishes of your future employer. We will be happy to advise you and provide further information..
