Rashid Hamid now has over 300,000 followers on Instagram. It all started with the fact that he wanted to post a few videos from his everyday life as an outpatient carer, showing excerpts from his working day. He hadn’t expected it to go so viral.
The success of the “carer with heart and soul” lies in the unadulterated directness of the scenes, especially with “Grandma Lotti”. When the two of them laugh heartily about things they experience together… The now 93-year-old does many things for the first time thanks to Rashid. Ordering sushi and eating out, for example. All this changes the pensioner for the better, keeps her young and fit.

Another of Rashid’s patients who appears in several videos over a longer period of time is Heiko. He has to live with multiple sclerosis and is therefore bedridden. Rashid deliberately cultivates an open and humorous relationship and makes Heiko’s difficult everyday life more bearable in this way. The community rejoices with Heiko when, after weeks of losing weight thanks to a feeding tube, he visibly puts on weight again and develops a new zest for life.
Rashid has rightly become a role model for how care can be lived – with respect, humanity, affection and fun. With the title “One heart and one care”, he has now also become a book author!
