The health and education company SRH has conducted a representative survey which found that 96% of working people in Germany consider healthcare and nursing to be essential. However, most are unaware of the extensive career prospects in this field.
Meaningful work, but little knowledge about specialisations and career opportunities: those who decide to train as a nurse usually do so out of conviction: working with people (63%) and the meaningfulness of the work (60%) are among the main motives. 38% also cite high job security as a decisive factor.
Seminars, combined with professional experience, offer some opportunities for advancement. The demand for qualified nursing staff is growing steadily. Those who continue their education not only improve their own career opportunities, but also make a significant contribution to ensuring the provision of care.
