In the vast majority of cases, the examination of submitted documents on the foreign professional qualification leads to a deficit notice, only very rarely does direct professional recognition occur.
For almost everyone, therefore, the proof of professional competence in relation to the German reference occupation must be provided either by a knowledge test or an adaptation course.
In addition to the technical aspects, a technical language test is usually required to obtain the license to practice a profession.
Recognition is also recommended for non-regulated professions such as dental assistants, but this is not carried out by a state authority and usually only involves an adjustment measure by the employer.
